19th IIFA Awards 2018
19th IIFA Awards 2018 goes to Rekha for her stunning dance performance and item number
The 19th International Indian Film Academy Awards will be remembered for Sri Devi being awarded the best actress posthumously and Rekha for giving a stunning performance at the ceremony.
It isn’t the first time that the veteran actor Rekha danced to her songs but she’s 63 and she returned to the stage after two decades.
To a question about her performance, Rekha answered, “I have a second name-mystery. If I tell you now, then what’s the point?”
The veteran actor performed on songs:
- Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya
- Salam-E-Ishq Meri Jaan
- Dil Cheez Kya Hai
- In Ankhon Ki Masti
Rekha looked much younger in the pink anaarkali with silver zari work by Manish Malhotra. And her performance was simply mesmerizing. She took the audience to the days of Mughal-e-Azam with her dance song Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. Rekha is an evergreen actor and she proved it again and again.
Back to the awards
Sri Devi was expected to be awarded for her last movie Mom but the nomination for the best actress was a surprise even to her husband Boney Kapoor, who took the trophy on behalf of Sri Devi.

Irrfan Khan also missed the function because of his illness. He’s being treated for a rare cancer in London but he thanked the gala from his hospital. The team Hindi Medium received the award on behalf of Irrfan Khan who’s currently recuperating in a London hospital.
On the sidelines
