With the countdown for release of the magnum opus of Sanjay Leela Bhansali Padmavat movie just begun and the stage set for the global IMAX 3D release of the movie, all eyes are on the state CMs especially BJP ruled states that are facing strict agitation from fringe groups especially the Karni Sena.
From Padmavati to Padmaavat
Padmavati was a legend in Rajasthani folklores. The beautiful queen of Chittor performed Jauhar (self-immolation) to prevent a cruel Muslim Delhi ruler from laying his dirty hands on her body. Her story was glorified by an epic poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540. Sanjay Leela Bhansali also tried to glorify the queen in Bollywood style but the story only created controversy. Finally Bhansali modified the movie to pacify the contesting groups but the modifications fail to pacify the contesting groups.
