History of Gold
The movie is based on the real-life event of Indian hockey team coach Tapan Das, who trained and encouraged Indian players to play international hockey at the 14th London Olympiad in 1948. It was the first time that India played as a free nation and won Gold in hockey. India beat Britain by 4-0 in the final and become Olympic champion.
12th August, 1948 was the historic day when India lifted the Olympic trophy for hockey. The movie Gold is a gift to India on the eve of Independence Day. Akshay Kumar shared a very special video on social media to commemorate the heroes of Indian hockey.

Gold First Look & Poster
