Gringo: Comedy of a Mexican drug cartel
Gringo is a dark comedy produced by seasoned director Nash Edgerton whose short movies Spider (2007) and Bear (2011) shot him to fame overnight. Gringo can rightly be termed as a mixture of everything that can make a movie hit. It has beauty, corporate world, drugs, action, corruption, mafia and backstabbing.
Star-cast
The first gem of this star studded movie is the Golden Globe Award winner David Oyelowo. Next in the line is Charlize Theron that recently stunned the audience with her immaculate two-piece white suit at a promotional event. Also there is Joel Edgerton of Star Wars Episode III and the famous South African actor, producer and director Sharlto Copley. But it is the daughter of Michael Jackson that attracted attention of the world to this movie. Paris Jackson is debuting in Hollywood with Gringo.

The dark comedy is a silver lining for Paris Jackson. It is the first big role for the little girl whose teary face covered world media on death of her beloved father. But soon she grew up and now is ready to take her father’s legend to a step ahead. This shy girl will show her beautiful face in the movie.
The story is quite interesting
Cannabix Technologies Inc sends Harold Soyinka (David Oyelowo) on a project. He’s an average businessman working for the company. His job is to deliver a secret formula of making “Weed Pill” frommedical marijuana to a manufacturing plant in Mexico. Unaware about the danger he is in, he leaves for Mexico only to be kidnapped by drug mafia.
The drug cartel has grudges against the bosses of the medical drug manufacturing company. The bosses are also unaware about the danger waiting for the formula to arrive in Mexico. But the danger in Mexico was bigger than anticipated company bosses. Harold Soyinka faces risk of life not from the drug cartel but backstabbing by greedy colleagues.
Harold is an average person satisfied with his career and happy with his earnings. But the average man in Harold dies on seeing the situation and a criminal is born to escape from the clutches of cheating colleagues and drug cartel. The company sends a professional to rescue Harold and they both walk through disturbing situations to come back safe.
Gringo First Look & Poster
It is a very beautiful poster in pale yellow color. The poster has medicinal plants in between and the name of movie is decorated with “Plus” sign of medical services. David Oyelowo in center of the poster is flanked by other characters. The poster wears a comic look.
Why watch the movie?
Nash Edgerton is himself a reason for watching the movie. Gringo is directed by Nash who’s a famous director. It is a comedy movie hence those who like comedy will also like the film. Gringo has drugs and action. The story looks real. A medical drug company shares its formula of making a secret drug with a Mexican unit but things goes wrong and situation becomes comic.
