It is the story of Sanjay Dutt narrated by Ranbir Kapoor, who’ll be seen in the role of Sanju in the movie. Sanjay Dutt was a drug addict before becoming a superstar. Also, he faced criminal charges in TADA and spent a good time of his life in jail.
Everyone in the industry is talking about this movie. Amitabh Bachchan was so surprised after seeing the Sanju teaser that he took Ranbir Kapoor to be Sanjay Dutt. But the million dollar question is what moved Rajkumar Hirani to make a movie on the life of Sanjay Dutt.
The biggest of all upcoming Bollywood movies news is why Rajkumar Hirani chose to make a biopic on Sanjay Dutt. Rajkumar Hirani a.k.a. Raju is known for making movies with a message. Take any of his movies and you will get a message like believe in Gandhian ideology (Lage Raho Munna Bhai) and stop superstitions (PK). What message does Raju want to give with Sanju?
Rajkumar Hirani has been a well-wisher of Sanjay Dutt and this is evident from the Munna Bhai series that helped Sanjay Dutt win favors from public and film fraternity. Munna Bhai series started when Sanjay Dutt came out of the jail first time. But Raju wasn’t wrong in supporting Sanjay Dutt. The court had already freed him from TADA and he was ready to go for sentencing for illegal possession of arms.
Sanju beats all the upcoming Bollywood movies in terms of star-cast, story, screenplay, dialogue and everything. And the topic perfectly fits into the Hirani’s movies. All his protagonists from Munna Bhai MBBS to PK are lawbreakers but not outlaws. They want to bring a positive change in the society and this is what Sanjay Dutt did with his terrorist tag.
