The director failed to understand the real concept and ended up making the movie like an advertisement on sanitary napkin for public viewing. The movie looks like a cheap propaganda of affordable sanitary napkins. What is worst is that the real life incidents of ArunachalamMuruganantham are taken verbatim in the movie. Everything that the real menstrual man did is replicated. The only good thing from director is selection of a picturesque spot – Maheshwar and Narmada. The directionless movie has nowhere to go.
Akshay Kumar
One of the few Bollywood celebrities credited for taking social issues through their movies, Akshay Kumar fails to represent the real PadMan in the movie. Arunachalam Muruganantham took a very serious matter in a very sincere manner but Akshay Kuamar doesn’t fit into the character of PadMan. He remained Lakshimankant Chauhan throughout the movie.
Radhika Apte
A promising actress, Radhika’s role was limited to weeping continuously. It’s surprising to see that such a beautiful and talented actress was taken only to show the audiences how feeble, weak and demoralized women feel during menstrual cycle.
Sonam Kapoor
Pari of PadMan, she’s introduced only to thrust a love triangle in the movie. The story is about the menstrual man of India and the movie is exploring love options for the PadMan of Bollywood. Also presence of many actors including the biggest of all “Big B” reduced screen time of Akshay Kumar, whose job was to represent ArunachalamMuruganantham.PadMan did well in the movie trailers but the full movie failed to live up to the expectations of the audiences.
