Facebook India to make half-a-million people digital by 2020
If you want to learn digital marketing or take startup training, look no further than Facebook. It is providing training to everyone interested in making a career in the ever-expanding field of digital. The social media giant has plans for training over half a million people by 2020.
What is Facebook training program?
In November 2017, Facebook rolled its personalized online learning programs – Facebook Digital Training and Facebook Startup Training Hubs – to help enterprising people and small businesses in India to grow with the digital economy. It is the first time that Facebook stepped into the training sector.
The training programs are developed with the help of leading local organizations including Digital Vidya, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), DharmaLife and the Startup India initiative of the government. A curriculum is developed to train individuals for jobs in digital; help startups establish their businesses and guide non-profit organizations in taking advantage of digital.
The personalized learning curriculum is available for free training in English and Hindi on Facebook. Presently approximately 217 million people are taking training through this online learning program. According to Ritesh Mehta, Head of Programmes, Facebook, India and South Asia, the objective of the program is to equip people with knowledge and tools that help in skill development in the long run.
